Description

The Elevated-Leg Pot Built for High-Density Planting

High-density container systems promise more berries per hectare. But that only works if every pot drains, breathes, and packs cleanly. The elevated blueberry pot (RB-RHL025L) is designed exactly for that system. It is a 25L round combo pot on tall 5.5 cm legs, shipped with a matching bottom grid insert. In effect, it turns the space under every pot into an air-pruning zone. At the same time, it lets units nest together into tight, orderly blocks.

It also holds 25 liters (6.5 gallons) of acidic substrate. The top is Ø42 cm (16.5 inches), and total height is 32 cm. The open elevated base and the fitted grid insert work as a system. Roots reach air at the drainage openings and prune naturally instead of circling. Meanwhile, the grid insert sits inside the pot to keep substrate in while water drains freely.

Air Pruning From an Open, Elevated Base

Unlike a standard pot with a closed floor, this elevated blueberry pot sits on an open lattice base. It also has long, widely spaced legs. So air flows through the entire underside of the root ball. Then tips that reach the openings dehydrate and branch. That is classic air pruning. The result is a dense, fibrous root system with no spiral.

Moreover, the 5.5 cm leg height creates real under-pot clearance. So water drains fast after irrigation or rain, and surfaces dry quickly. Thus, no part of the root zone ever sits in pooled water. In addition, the open legs leave room for the optional drainage gutter (RB-ACST05C) that collects runoff row by row.

Included Bottom Grid Insert: Retains Substrate, Frees Drainage

Every combo unit ships with one bottom grid insert (RB-RHL025L-SC, 105 g). This perforated disc lays flat on the lattice base inside the pot. Its small openings block peat, bark, and coir from washing out, while irrigation water and rain pass straight through. In short, it keeps substrate in the pot and keeps the drainage openings clear.

Please note this is an internal grid insert, not a water-catching saucer. It never holds standing water, and nothing sits beneath the pot to catch drips. If your rows need runoff collection, use the matching drainage gutter RB-ACST05C (5 cm profile, sold by the meter, MOQ 200 m), or the round runoff tray RB-ACSC31C at row ends.

Stackable Combo Design for Dense, Orderly Blocks

The pot and grid insert are designed to nest and stack together. So units handle as one piece during planting, spacing, and move-downs. The wide Ø42 cm rims also sit close to their neighbors in the row. That produces the even, high-density layouts modern substrate farms plan around. The blocks are easy to scout, easy to harvest, and easy to run drip lines across.

The system ships efficiently too. It loads 1,440 pieces per pallet (with a complementary 960-piece half-pallet format). And a 40HQ container takes 18,240 combo units. In addition, replacement grid inserts (RB-RHL025L-SC) are available separately as spares, 5,400 pieces per pallet.

UV-Stabilized Food-Safe PP, Pot and Insert Alike

We injection-mold both pot and insert from UV-stabilized, food-safe polypropylene (PP). The resin is also pH-neutral for acidic berry mixes. It is also black to absorb spring warmth. And it is rated for 3–5 outdoor seasons of sun, frost, and daily handling. At 650 g, the pot stays rigid enough for machine-assisted spacing while keeping material use efficient. Finally, custom colors, printed logos, and barcodes are available for OEM orders.

Elevated Blueberry Pot: Specs, Loading, and Ordering

So here are the key numbers. Each combo weighs 755 g (650 g pot plus 105 g grid insert). The pot measures Ø42 × 32 cm on 5.5 cm open-frame legs and ships with its matching insert. Loading runs 1,440 combo units per pallet (or 960 in the half-pallet format), and a full 40HQ container takes 18,240 combo units. Spare inserts ship 5,400 pieces per pallet. Every figure is measured from production, not estimated.

The elevated blueberry pot anchors a complete high-density row. Growers often pair it with our drip irrigation kits, berry support stakes, the ACST05C drainage gutter, and replacement RB-RHL025L-SC grid inserts. For standard round production in the same volume, see the RB-R025L family, and for maximum density in a square footprint, the 25L square pot is the counterpart. Frequently Asked Questions
Does the elevated pot come with a bottom grid insert?

Yes — every RB-RHL025L ships as a combo unit with its matching RB-RHL025L-SC bottom grid insert (105 g, purpose-made); 18,240 combo units per 40HQ. The insert is a perforated disc that lays inside the pot on the lattice base.

What is the elevated open-base design for?

The 5.5 cm legs and open-grid base let air reach roots from underneath for air pruning — roots stay white and fibrous instead of circling or sitting wet. The included bottom grid insert keeps substrate in while water drains freely, and the open legs leave room for the optional RB-ACST05C drainage gutter that collects runoff row by row.

How is it different from your regular 25L round pot?

Same 25L (6.5 gal) volume, but with taller 5.5 cm open-grid legs, the included bottom grid insert, and a high-density combo arrangement. Check your rack spacing before ordering — the stacked combo is taller than the standard pot.

Is the grid insert a saucer that catches water?

No — it is an internal bottom grid insert, not a water-catching saucer. It lays inside the pot, holds substrate in place, and lets water drain straight through. Nothing sits under the pot to hold water. For runoff collection, add the optional drainage gutter RB-ACST05C (sold by the meter, MOQ 200 m) between rows, or the round runoff tray RB-ACSC31C at row ends.

What size blueberry pot do I need — 25L or 30L?

Most commercial growers use 25L (6.5 gal) for standard mature bushes and 30L (7.8 gal) for vigorous varieties, older plants, or heavy substrates where you want extra root buffer. Square pots (RB-SG25L/SG30L) pack at the highest field density; round side-hole pots (RB-R025L-S) fit standard Ø38 cm nursery racks. The 5L/7L/10L squares carry young liners through propagation.

Are these pots UV-protected for outdoor use?

Yes. They are injection-molded from UV-stabilized, food-safe polypropylene (PP), designed for 3–5 seasons of outdoor exposure. The black color absorbs heat to warm the root zone. Frost-resistant and reinforced grades are available on request.

What is the difference between the square and round pots?

Square pots pack edge to edge with almost no gap, giving roughly 15–20% more plants per hectare — ideal for new high-density blocks. Round pots match traditional Ø38 cm nursery rack spacing and move smoothly on automated handling lines — ideal when your benches and equipment are already round-pot. Same PP grade, same B2B pallet programs.

What is the MOQ and how do I get pricing?

We sell B2B by the pallet and full container. Prices are not published because they depend on quantity, destination, color, and custom options. Click Request a Quote with your quantity and port — we reply with FOB pricing, lead time, and a freight/landed-cost estimate. Small trial orders are also accepted.

Can I order custom colors or my own logo?

Yes. Standard is black; custom colors and printed/branded pots are available for OEM and private-label orders. Black-and-white barcodes up to 3×5 cm are free; color barcodes and custom branding are quoted separately. Tell us your needs in the quote form.

Do you supply irrigation and accessories too?

Yes — we offer matching drip irrigation kits, plant label tags, berry support stakes, and hooks, so you can source pots and planting hardware in one shipment. Mention accessories in your quote request for a bundle price.
